Welcome to Live to Read to Live

Welcome to my new venture in blogging. I'm an avid reader who truly "lives to read." But I also "read to live." Books can serve so many different purposes. They educate me, challenge me, expand my imagination or help me grow as a Christian. Some are thought-provoking and encourage me to reflect deeply while others are light and fun. With so many authors and books to choose from, the task of finding ones worth reading, can be truly daunting.

As the mother of 6 children ranging in age from 2 to 14 years, I know how challenging it can also be to find books that are truly worth reading at the various ages and interests of my kids. Books with a message that isn't obscured by vulgar language and immoral scenarios. Books that don't impose ungodly values or vain pursuits onto the hearts and minds of my children. I love to pass along recommendations for the books that have truly enriched our lives. This blog is my way of sharing some of our favorite reads. I hope you'll enjoy your time here; more than anything, I hope I can direct you to some new family favorites.

Blessings,
Jill

I'm so glad you created this blog, Jill! I've always appreciated your book recommendations. Not to put you on the spot, but - has your family or any of your children read any of the R.M. Ballantyne series or the G.A Henty series that Vision Forum sells? Just wondered if they were more of a family read-aloud series or if your older kids enjoyed reading them.

I'm so excited to see what some of your favorite books are in the weeks to come!!
