Ella In Between by Heather Cursham

Ella In Between (Lucy Butterfly)

On the eve of Ella's thirteenth birthday, she heads to bed excited about tomorrow, and wakes up in the Kingdom she had previously experienced with her older sister Lucy in the second Lucy Butterfly book, Lucy Ever After.  Lucy is now miles away helping in Africa when Ella finds herself all alone  in a Kingdom that feels strangely different. The young Mia she met in her last visit is now Queen of the Kingdom. What Ella cannot understand is why the light is so overwhelmingly bright (requiring she wear special glasses) and the air seems oppressive and heavy.

Ella loves meeting up with her friends again but isn't sure why she's there. She's surprised by the changes in the kingdom--now she can understand and converse with animals and no guards are needed at this time of peace. When one of her friends brings her a message from her sister Lucy, Ella begins to wonder about how the two worlds may be connected. And whether she'll be able to get back to her own world at all.

Readers will love this third adventure in the Lucy Butterfly series with the charming characters and strong friendship between Lucy and her sister Ella. Each girl has grown through their experiences in the kingdom.  I highly recommend the series!
